The Kessler Academy 2025

An opportunity for talented young string players to explore string orchestra repertoire from the past century.
This mentorship program, for young professionals and advanced students, will comprise six days of intensive rehearsal followed by a public performance in Vancouver, presented by Music on Main.
Participation is through audition, recommendation and/or invitation. The orchestra performs without conductor and is led by members of the Microcosmos Quartet (http://microcosmosquartet.com). (Marc Destrubé, Andrea Siradze - violins, Tawnya Popoff - viola, tba - cello).
The full cost of the program (ca. $800 per participant) is covered by our generous private sponsors and other contributors.
The orchestra will be made up of 12 violins, 4 violas, 4 cellos and 2 double basses.

Benjamin Britten - Les Illuminations (soloist tba)
Michael Tippett - Concerto for Double String Orchestra
